Introducing Silat
SILAT
DMCC has formed a collaboration with GRACIO Silat school to open a silat center (martial art) in Canada. GRASIO is an abbreviation derived from Gerak Silat Olahraga, which means Pencak Silat Movements in sports. This style of martial art has been practiced by pesilat in many countries including Singapore, Nepal and Pakistan since about a decade ago. GRASIO focuses on the art and skills of competition movements as well as self-defense. GRASIO has a standard syllabus that translates in the belts system. The foundation of GRASIO martial art suits the requirement of sports silat and competition. Therefore the development of GRASIO in many countries nowadays has placed silat as one of the potentially appealing branches of sport events.
